Well I had a very interesting Tuesday night..
 
The original plan for my Tuesday night was to go to Soph's Mum's house for dinner, going to Sof's house first because it's on my way from work to Sof's mum's.
 
Unfortunately my night wasn't as simple as that!
 
After leaving a busy-ass day at work with constant phone calls and busy busy social work stuff.. I drove to the supermarket to buy a cake because I didn't want to go with nothing. When I got back to my car, I sat in the driver's seat (obviously) and hit the central locking button. It was getting dark and I wasn't in the best neighbourhood, so i locked myself in the car.
 
The only thing was, I couldn't start the car! I turned my key in the ignition and I got nothing.. The lights on the dash didn't even light up. I couldn't even get my headlights to turn on! Then I realised it. My car's battery had died.. It had a fkn coronary! No warning! Like a healthy man (yes my car's a male) who died of a heart attack out of nowhere!
 
Oh! And it gets better! Remember I hit the central locking button? I looked down at the button and hit the 'unlock' switch. Nothing.

I sighed and contemplated climbing out the window, but my legs are short and I'd never get back in the car!
 
So I sighed and called RACV and askd for a roadside assist car to come out and jumpstart me. I think the lady on the phone had a bal because I started the call with, "Hi! This is gonna sound a bit wierd, but I got in my car, locked the doors and now my car won't start and I'm locked in my car!"
 
The woman on the phone was really nice. She said roadside assist would come in 45mins.
 
I then called mum and filled her in on my situation. I then sent an sms to everyone who was going to Sof's mum's to tell them that if I need a new battery, I'l go home after im jumpstarted and I'll get the new battery fitted at home.
 
Mick rang me, as he and Sof live just down the road. He asked if he wanted me to keep him company. I was about to say "no" but then I realised it was getting dark outside and I didn't know the neighbourhood so I decided it was best he came to keep me company.

As I waited, it got darker outside and I couldn’t lock the doors because well, I’d get locked in again! SO I’m absolutely packing myself because lots of people were walking past my car to get into the supermarket. I looked at everyone who seemed to walk too close to the driver’s side door, as I think I watch the news too much because I didn’t want to have my car jacked!

Then I randomly saw some guy walking from behind the car, up to my door.
I absolutely panicked..

..until I looked up and saw Mick. I told him off for scaring the shit out of me! When I looked over at the passenger window, I saw GIos looking in the window. I laugh now but it was frigg’n scary!

The boys took a look under the hood of my car

 (they’re carpenters so I don't know if they knew what they were looking for).  And they gave up pretty quickly. So we stood outside my car with the hood up and waited for the RACV guy to come.

He came within about half an hour, so that was good. He jumpstarted my car but said I needed a new battery, but I’d need to wait for the guy with the batteries to come. I was going to go home to do that but Mick said I should still come to dinner at Sof’s mum’s house and call the other RACV van from there.

So I followed Mick back to his house, to get Sof. Sof ended up jumping in my car and I filled her in on what happened to my car. She laughed her ass off when I told her I locked myself in the car.

When we got to Sof’s Mum’s, we realised I couldn’t lock my car! And I didn’t want to leave my car unlocked in the street! I couldn’t even lock it with the key instead of the beeper, because my car kept trying to turn on the alarm when I locked it. By then I was buggered and hungry. I had enough.  The girls were telling me to leave my car unlocked, but it was a dark street and anyone could just push the handbrake down and roll the car away. So to help me out, the girls parked their cars so I was blocked in. Sof parked her car in front of mine and KT parked hers behind me, real close so no one could knick my car!

And it worked. I called RACV and they said it would take 90 mins for the guy with the batteries to get there and he came within an hour. So we had time to eat before he came.

And now my car is a good as new! Its new heart is running like a dream! My good Ol’ chugga-chugg will live to see another day!

The only annoying thing was I had to reset my radio stations on my radio again! Grr!

Of course my parents were extatic to attend the graduation. Me, not so much.

So yeah. I got to catchup with the girls, but like most grads, theyre spent with family!

And i saw my cousin there too! i didnt know she was graduating that day too!

By the time the ceremony ended and i handed my own in and after alllllll the photos, it was after 10:30pm!

We got maccas on the way home! mmm... maccas...

Hi all! My hand ACHES!

Last night a after the supanova expo, I started cooking dinner. Mum had fallen asleep on the couch because she was knackered, I thought I’d start making the schnitzel without Mum for once..

Well, it was good in theory..

First it took me 10 minutes to remember which comes first in the flour, Egg and Breadcrumb combo!

Then as I was cooking it, I got splattered with OIL!

Shit-on-a-brick!

My poor right thumb and hand got splattered with oil!!! I spent  hours with an icepack on my hand.

Damn, burns HURT!

I lathered on this antiseptic burn cream and then after another hour it stopped hurting..

But this morning, I looked like a lepper because I’ve got these huge boils all over my hand!

And today I accidentally burst one! Omg THAT hurt too!!!!

I'm convinced that the bigger boil on the top of my hand looks like a loveheart!

(i know, it's hard to tell in the photo and im sure none of you want zoomed in pictures of a blister!)

trust me, the boils look worse in real life!!

The Supanova Expo

was on again over the weekend!

On Sunday, Mum and I headed over to check out the pop-culture expo!

Well this year Mum and I were a bit disappointed because the actors arriving weren’t as high up there as the year before, and the ones that were going to come, pulled out! Originially Peter Facinelli  (Dr Crlisle from Twilight) and the characters Tara and Warren from Buffy were meant to come! Instead we got Hayden Penettiere from Heroes and Katee Sackhoff (“Starbuck”) & Richard Hatch (“Apollo” in the original BSG, and “Tom Zarek” in the new BSG). I felt sorry for Justin Chon (one of the nobody classmates from Twilight) and Bonnie Piesse (Luke Skywalker’s Aunt Beru from Episode 3). Those two had nearly no fans.. poor dearies But Worf was there, so that was a bonus!

 No, a "Klingon" is not the plastic wrap you put over your food!

Just like last year, I had my camera at the ready! Last year there were HEAPS of people playing dress-ups, so I wanted to get as many photos as I could! But last year there were funnier costumes out there! But don't get me wrong, there’s some funny ones in the bunch!

 this was one of THE BEST! I’ll post them in a photo album, but here’s some of the good costumes!

Mum and I went to the Q&A with Haydn Pennetieri. Last year we were allowed to take LOTS of photos, but this year they said take photos for the first 2 minutes, then no more photos! BOO!!!

 And it didn’t help tat the room was poorly lit, so my photos were terrible! Grr!

In walks in the 5 foot nothing blonde with 6 inch heels on! She wasn’t too bad, but man, the girl can TALK! When asked a short question, she rambled on for minutes.. I zones out quite a few times! Ahahha  I drifted off quite a few times, which then had me turning to mum, asking “what was the question again?”  But she was a gorgeous skinny tiny-tot!

Then right after, mum and I ran over to see the actress we were hanging out to see! Katee Sackhoff! The infamous STARBUCK from battlestar gallactica herself! Whoot! The downside was they confiscated ALL cameras and phones  beforehand! Wtf?!  Apparently Kattee has had things shes said posted online and out of context.. really  I think if we took photos of her she wouldn’t make any money later when providing $30 signatures!

She was pretty cool and opposite to her bad-ass character on the show! Firstly, she strolled in wearing a TWILIGHT t-shirt! Ahhaha and she told everyone she’s team Jacob reading  the books but is Team Edward when watching the movie!  Turns out shes one of those  smiley, go out partying and riding motorcycles types. She made us laugh when she said she only just heard of the word “Bikie” ahah and she goes “sounds kind of poofey..?” ahaha the guy hosting the show told her not to say that to their faces ! haha! So I got no photos in that Q&A session unfortunately!

Right after that, we sat in for this photographer who took photos on the last weeks of shooting for the BSG finale.

 But the sun was shining in and we couldnt watch the dvd slideshow- frack! I wanted to see it!

Mum and I left that Q&A early and went to the main arena.  We went over to the signatures stand and theoriginal “Apollo” from the original BSG was there signing next to the poor nobody from Twilight.  Poor twilight guy was smiling and happy to meet the fans..

 Apollo was chatting up his assisntant! He wouldn’t stop looking/talking to her and I didn’t get a decent shot..

I then went over to this stand with stargate books! I asked and the woman behind the counter was the author, who got her story published when there was an open call for fan fiction Stargate stories, and hers won!

Being a sucker for fan fiction, I bought a copy (Yes.. I did) and got it personally signed..

 I told her I was soo soo glad she wrote my name right (and we all know I’m a spelling nazi when it comes to my name!)

After mum and I enjoyed an ultra expensive domino's pizza, we went to the Q&A with the original Apollo- Richard Hatch!!

I got bored ½ way thru because he started motivationally speakin about how he’s a motivational speaker!

 Ahah so I dumped mum there and went off to take photos of random costumed folk and of the cheerleader and starbuck (who I still hadn’t gotten a photo of!)

I went to the signatures stand and I was told off for taking photos! They wanted me to pay $30 to buy a photo and line up to get it signed.. So what did I do?.. I stood behind random groups of teens and took photos from afar like a paparazzi! Ahahah hey it worked!

Some woman brought her newborn baby and omg it got Haydn and Katee all gushy and they both went over to see the baby!

It got me a good photo op though!

After that I went over to the COSPLAY competition..  Pretty much all the people dressed in costume were about to be judged! And it was pretty hilarious!

I only got to see a few costumed people because the host introduced them one by one (the host was Hilarious!)

By then mum had left the Richard Hatch Q&A and was buggered. She started walking to the car and I left the COSPLAY competition soon after. My camera’s battery was dead by then anyway..
